Death Battle Predictions: Chucky vs Slappy

You see a small doll with a big red nose. For some reason, you don't trust this seemingly-innocent child's toy.” -Mr. Nixon Doll’s analysis from Fallout 2

Chucky, serial killer turned to killer good guy doll from Child’s Play

Slappy, the living ventriloquist dummy and mascot from Goosebumps

Ever since they existed, humans have always had a fear of dolls. This fear is shown throughout history with dolls like Robert the Doll and Annabelle. This irrational fear is most likely attributed to use not being able to process that these dolls are fake faces that aren’t alive. However, what if these dolls were really alive, and were out for blood. These two dolls are the embodiment of evil which started a movement of possessed dolls in the media. Can Chucky shake off his Goosebumps and beat Slappy? Or will Slappy be able to make childs play of Chucky? Let us see these two hack and slash so we can find out who would win in a DEATH BATTLE!!!

Before We Start…

Due to the nature of one of the characters, this blog could be considered NSFW. Also gore/blood warning.

This matchup will be a composite of both Chucky and Slappy, meaning Chucky will be given all his movies, comics, show, and novels. However, he will not be given his reboot movie as the characters are pretty much fundamentally different in their origins and power as well as excluding any cameos in other media he’s appeared in, such as Ready Player 1.

Slappy’s a lot more complicated, he will be given all the novels he appears in, as well as the games, movies, tv shows, and comics as well. Although, we are not using every Slappy World book, as with most of them, he’s just the narrator. The ones we are using are the ones where he is the main or partial villain in. (If he is just narrating the story, like with most of the Slappy World books, it will not be used. However, we are using books he does make cameos in.).

We also used the vsbw page to help with some of our Slappy research.

Background

Chucky

"You know what they say, you just can't keep a good guy down"

Evil can come from a variety of places, from mis-influenced teenagers to sad men looking to brighten up their pathetic lives. But sometimes, evil isn’t made, it’s born. Kinda like Charles Lee Ray, who after his 7th birthday, got his house invaded by the Hackensack Slasher, a serial killer running around at the time. After killing his dad, the Hash Slinging Slasher would find Charles in his closet… where he had murdered his own mom. After that, the Slasher let Charles live, and he would be sent to the Burlington Home for Wayward Boys, where he would meet Eddie Caputo, who would become his accomplice and getaway driver when it came to his killings.

After this, he would find a woman by the name of Tiffany Valentine, who he would make his girlfriend and partner in crime. They would do ALL their killings together, eventually moving into Chicago, Illinois, where Charles would get the nickname “The Lakeshore Strangler” (even though he was much more of a stabber), and he would also find John Bishop, nicknamed “Dr. Death”, who was an expert when it comes to voodoo magic and spells, including one that peaked Charles’ mind… cheating death by transferring your soul into another vessel.

Unfortunately, Charles wasn’t exactly a good boyfriend to Tiffany, elevated heavily by Charles keeping a pregnant woman named Sarah Pierce captive as a secret spouse. Tiffany, if a fit of rage, called up a detective by name of Mike Norris and ratted out the location of Charles which got him in a chase with the cops, which is also where Eddie fucking ditched Charles to die. After this, Charles went into a toy store to hide from the cops, but after taking 2 shots the the chest, he was starting to bleed out and was definitely going to die. But before Charles died, he found a Good Guy doll and performed the voodoo spell that Dr. Death taught him and he then transfers his soul into the Good Guy doll, allowing him to escape captivity.

Charles, now going by his nickname Chucky, was sold to Andy Barclay, where he would go and kill people without being found out, including Eddie Caputo, by BLOWING HIS FUCKING HOUSE UP!!! However, after getting shot while attempting to kill Mike Norris, it bled… the doll body bled. So yeah, one thing Dr. Death forgot to teach Chucky was that whatever body Chucky swaps his soul into, the more that body starts become more like his own, making the doll’s appearance slowly morph into his own and making a doll do human thing like bleed, and if he doesn’t get out of the doll body, he’ll be stuck with it.

So he needed to rush to use the voodoo spell and steal Andy’s body, except Andy, his mom Karen (don’t laugh), and Mike Norris managed to kill Chucky, by burning him, shooting his limbs and even head off, and then shooting his heart, killing for good and he would never come back… ever….

UNTIL the company that made the Good Guy dolls rebuilds him and he tries to swap with Andy again, who’s now in a foster home. But unfortunately, Chucky’s too late, and he’s stuck as a doll, and then promptly killed by Andy and his foster sister Kyle covering Chucky in molten plastic and his head popped, killing him for good and now he would never come back… ever….

UNTIL his blood is accidentally fused into a vade of plastic a few years later and it’s used to make another doll body, which allows him to get another chance to get out of the doll body, instead of using Andy, he uses a kid named Tyler to swap with, who’s a private in a military school… It was the 90s. Also, Andy’s here too, trying to get Chucky off his mind and basically ruining his childhood… So yeah, he kills Chucky again by getting cut up by a big metal fan in the middle of a carnival ride… this movie was a trip. But now, Chucky’s dead and now he will never come back… ever….

EXCEPT NO! Tiffany’s back, collecting Chucky’s remains and bringing him back with another voodoo ritual after missing him for about a decade and hoping he had changed since they originally broke up… she was wrong. So, she locked him in a cage, which made Chucky turn HER into a doll. It makes the two go on a journey to get to Chucky’s human corpse and find “the Heart of Damballa” to turn them into humans. During this, Chucky and Tiffany fall back in love and even get married where they proceed to have doll sex (not joking) and finally get to Hackensack, where the body was. Except the couple they were stuck traveling with managed to trick them into breaking up and then they both died and now they will never come back… ever…

UNTIL their corpses are found by Hollywood and are used to try and make a movie. Except remember the doll sex (I mean, how can you not?)? Well, they had a child, named Shitface (do laugh) who brings Chucky and Tiffany back to life and they try to raise him while trying to become human again by possessing rapper Redman, the actual Jennifer Tilly, and two kids that they force Jennifer to have (because turns out, Shitface is two personalities, named Glen and Glenda, who possess each child).

But during this, Chucky snaps, giving up the goal of trying to become human and staying as a killer doll, primarily because of how rad it was. So, he started a new plan (after dying again, oof), of creating a mass army of Good Guy dolls, all possessed by Chucky, and cause just the best fucking havoc. So, Chucky started working, even running into Nica Pierce, the daughter of the pregnant woman he kidnapped, and even an adult Andy Barclay. And that’s kinda where he’s remained to this day, as meanest fucking doll you’ll ever see. Hidey-fucking-ho

Slappy

Who are you calling dummy, dummy?

Slappy’s origins are… weird. There’s 3 conflicting reports of where he actually comes from and who made him. The first of which is that Slappy was created an evil sorcerer by being carved out of cursed wood which was originally used for a coffin, alongside another doll by the name of Mr. Wood. However, after making the dolls, an unknown event happens and brings the evil sorcerer to his death. But before he died, he used a spell to transfer his soul into the Slappy doll and subsequently became said doll, as well as bringing life to even more dolls to cause havoc.

The second report tells the story of one Franz Maher, a surprisingly friendly toymaker and ventriloquist who was friends with a sorcerer named Kanduu. Kanduu has a bunch of weird and bizarre powers, including giving life to dummies, such as the ones that Franz made and this was a technique he even taught to Franz. However, Kanduu wasn’t exactly a good guy, and used his magic to bring one of Franz’s dolls, named Mr. Wood, to life and attack Franz… because why not? Franz fled to the United States, where he continued to make dolls and would stupidly bring them to life with the magic Kanduu taught him, and Slappy was one of these dolls. And while Slappy and the other dolls were nice to him, they were aggressive to everybody else because duh, you used the same spell that made one of his dolls evil, what did you think would happen?

The third, final, and most likely of the potential origin stories tells the tale of another wizard by the badass and yet confusing name of Ephraim Darkwell, who made Slappy, as well as a bunch of other dolls, and brought them to life simply because he liked it and wanted to be at peace and found the dolls were the best comfort for him. But the other villagers in the village he was in thought his magic was evil nonsense and formed an angry mob to hunt him down. Enraged, he put a magic curse on Slappy, and turned him into a murderous punk to kill all of humanity.

Whatever the origin, Slappy was eventually put into an eternal sleep by a magic curse that could only be lifted if a certain spell was uttered… “Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molunnu Karrano”, which roughly means “You and I are one now”. After uttering these words with him nearby, Slappy will come to life and start terrorizing everyone around him, including the multiple families he’s been sent to (which isn’t a one after another case, each story isn’t apart of the same universe for some reason, because of the 3 origin stories were any indication, these stories just hate continuity).

Experience & Skill

Chucky

Chucky is a lot of things, but dumb ain’t one of them. Chucky is very smart about who and how he chooses to murder people, coming from how he’s been killing since he was a child and didn’t get caught until he was 30. He’s been able to catch his victims off guard multiple times, allowing for swift and easy kills. Chucky’s also a master manipulator, convincing Junior Wheeler to kill his dad, and being able to blame Nica for the killing in Curse of Chucky. His status of being a children’s doll is something that he exploits a lot, sitting at the scene of a murder with nobody noticing.

Chucky’s skill with voodoo magic is also extremely impressive, especially after reading voodoofordummies.com. He’s been capable of formulating a huge plan to cause havoc by using a spell to create an army of himself, and when Hack and Slash needed to find someone who stole Chucky’s Heart of Damballa, he was basically needed for the whole trip, thanks to his experience and knowledge about voodoo magic that both Hack and Slash had no idea about.

Slappy

While it may not seem like it due to his trolly nature, Slappy is extremely intelligent and skillful. This is shown through multiple statements of his intelligence like him almost have maxed out splat stats in intellect in Fright Gallery. He was even regarded as one of the most intelligent villains to enter Horrorland, possibly as smart as the Horrors which have created insane structures like machines which can turn people to werewolves and an infinite slide. He commonly comes up with different schemes to fool people and frame people into thinking he’s not alive or that someone else did what he has done. With this he’s also shown to be good at manipulating people, getting them to do almost anything he wants.

Slappy is no slouch when it comes to magic and magical beings as well. Slappy has shown on multiple occasions capable of handling and fighting powerful people such as Arragotus, The   Menace, and Snappy. He has shown to be commonly physically superior to a lot of humans who try to fight him as well, dodging and overpowering them. He has shown to be a master with magic on multiple occasions. This mastery has only been amplified by the fact he has possession of Goldie’s Diary which contains numerous spells at his disposal.

Equipment

Chucky

 Knives

(Shout out Twice for the edit)

Throughout the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky has used a variety of different knives for his multitude of killings.

Voodoo Knife - The Voodoo knife is a knife used in the original Child’s Play movie. While it’s not seen in any of the other movies, Chucky uses this knife for the majority of this movie.

Kitchen Knives - Chucky uses a kitchen knife on a plethora of occasions. In the first movie in an attempt to stab Mike Norris to kill him. Chucky uses a different but similar kitchen knife in Bride of Chucky to kill Warren Kincaid. Chucky also uses a kitchen knife in Seed of Chucky which was used to kill Stan. Chucky also used a kitchen knife to kill Barb Pierce in Curse of Chucky. He then uses a kitchen knife to kill a bunch of other people like Oliver, Nathan Cross, and Junior in the Chucky television series.

Boot Knife - Chucky uses a Boot Knife found inside the Simpson’s house in the final act of Child’s Play 2. With this knife, Chucky uses it to kill two people, Grace Poole and some random technician. Chucky even makes this knife into a makeshift knife hand.

Combat Knife - Chucky uses a Bowie Knife in Child’s Play 3 for a good chunk of the movie. While this knife was never used to directly kill anyone, it does get used to help give Cochrane a heart attack, threaten others, and it’s even used against him.

Unknown Knife - Buzzcut Chucky in Cult of Chucky, uses a knife from a counter to help kill Carlos with the other to Chucky’s.

Pistols

Throughout the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky has used a variety of different pistols for his multitude of killings. That’s right, I said pistols. They are not guns, tell them the difference Major Ellis.

This is my pistol, this is my gun, this is for shooting, and this is for fun.”

Now onto the pistols:

Beretta 950 Jetfire: Chucky steals this pistol from the Fair security guard in Child’s Play 3. We see that he was shot in the head off screen with the stolen pistol.

Glock 17: Chucky wields a Glock 17 for a good chunk of Bride of Chucky and presumably kills two people off screen with the pistol.

Nail Gun

(Nice pun Chucky)

Chucky’s more fitting range weapon considering what he is. Chucky on numorous occasions has used a nail gun to fire back at incoming fire, or just to kill people.

Camera

In Chucky’s Vacation Slides, he commonly has a camera wrapped around his neck in the photos. He most likely used this to take pictures of his vacation (and kills).

Plastic Bag

Funnily enough, Chucky has used a plastic bag to suffocate his victims on multiple occasions. Chucky uses a plastic bag in Child’s Play 2 to suffocate and kill Mattson, an executive of the Good Guy Doll company. He also suffocated someone else off screen in Seed of Chucky with a plastic bag as well. He also has used one to presumably kill Alice’s grandmother in Curse of Chucky.

Axe

Chucky has used an axe on a few occasions. In Seed of Chucky he uses one to break down a door and almost kill Tiffany in her doll body. In Curse of Chucky he uses one to kill Ian Pierce by hacking off his lower jaw.

Scalpel

Chucky uses a scalpel on Dr. Ardmore to cut his leg to make him fall on the ground so he can shock him to death. He then uses a scalpel to paralyze Sean Peyton in the Chucky television series.

Misc. Equipment

This is only for equipment that Chucky has only used once in the series and hasn’t ever used again.

Finger Knife Glove

A Freddy Krueger-esk finger knife glove that that Chucky used to kill this voodoo chick named Wendy.

Bear Traps

Some bear traps that Chucky planned in advance before attacking a group of teenagers camping in the woods. Although, one must ask how he got these in the first place.

Hedge Trimmer

A hedge trimmer he found in the basement of Lieutenant Preston’s home (you know, the guy from Bride of Chucky who Shitface attacked when they were born. Yeah, he survived! Wack). Chucky used this trimmer to cut up his insides while attacking him and his wife.

Toy Hammer

Chucky uses this in the first movie to kill Maggie Peterson. He uses it by hitting her so hard that she was sent flying out the window.

Wooden Baseball Bat

Chucky uses a wooden baseball in the first movie to knock out Mike Norris so that he doesn’t get in the way of him try to switch souls with Andy.

Wires

Chucky uses wires in an attempt to choke and kill Mike Norris while he was driving. These wires were unsuccessful in doing so.

Yard Stick

One of the most iconic weapons Chucky has ever used. Chucky uses a yard stick to beat and kill Andy’s teacher, Miss Kettlewell.

Broken Broom

Chucky uses the hook of a broken broom to grab onto Andy’s foster dad leg to make him trip and fall on his neck, killing him.

Marbles

Chucky uses a bag of marbles to help kill the CEO of Play Pals Toys in Child’s Play 3.

Darts

Chucky uses some darts to help kill the CEO of Play Pals Toys in Child’s Play 3.

Yo-Yo

Chucky uses a a yo-yo to finally straggle and kill the CEO of Play Pals Toys in Child’s Play 3.

Shaving Razor

Chucky uses a shaving razor to slit Sargent Botniks after he tried to give Chucky a haircut in Child’s Play 3.

Grenade

While Chucky originally used to try to kill a group of kids, Harold Whitehurst jumps on the grenade and saves everyone but kills himself in the process.

Pillow

Chucky uses a pillow to suffocate Damien Baylock in Bride of Chucky by sitting on it while he talks to Tiffany.

Machete

While we don’t see the kill, Chucky kills someone offscreen in Seed of Chucky with a machete. We also see The Colonel use one in the television show but he never actually kills anyone with it.

Carving Fork

While we don’t see the kill, Chucky kills someone offscreen in Seed of Chucky with a carving fork.

Scissors

Chucky uses a pair of scissors to kill Nica’s mom, Sarah Pierce in Curse of Chucky.

Rat Poison

In one of the most tense scenes in all of Child’s Play, Chucky uses rat poison to kill Father Frank by poisoning his chilly.

Wheelchair Wire

Chucky #1 used a wire from Mica’s wheelchair to slit Angela’s wrists in Cult of Chucky.

Compressed Oxygen Canister

Chucky #1 used a compressed oxygen tank by throwing it hard into the ground so it could launch up and shatter the window above Claire which causes her to get decapitated from the falling glass.

Drill

Chucky #2 used a drill to help kill Carlos with the other two Chucky’s in Cult of Chucky. We also see Chucky #2 use it to kill Malcolm a few minutes after.

Broken Bottle

Chucky #1 used a broken bottle to help kill Carlos with the other two Chucky’s in Cult of Chucky.

Whisky

In probably the grossest kill of the franchise, Chucky drinks almost a whole bottle of whisky in which he pukes out under Lucas Wheeler’s feet while he was working with wires and stuff, causing him to electrocute to death.

Syringes

Chucky injects a bunch of syringes filled with random stuff into Sean Peyton, killing him.

Mail Cart

Chucky uses a mail cart to push Bree Wheeler out of the window of a very tall building which kills her.

Hook Thing

Chucky kills some guy in the comics with this hook thing that was used to hang plushies and dolls up on.

Fertilizer Bomb

Chucky was able to craft his own homemade fertilizer bomb which he states can kill anyone in a 5 foot radius. This bomb ends up killing Jacobs foster brother, Gary.

Rosary

Buff Chucky uses a Rosary to choke Father O’Malley to death.

Arsenic

The Colonel uses Arsenic to get the upper hand on Buff Chucky by secretly putting it into his food, killing him.

World's Quietest Chainsaw

Something Chucky orders himself as an early Christmas present. He uses it to kill Lexy’s mom, Michelle Cross by splitting her in half.

Slappy

Notecard

A notecard commonly found in Slappy’s coat pocket. This note card contains the phrase “Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano”. This phrase is what brings Slappy to life however it has been shown and implied throughout the story those words will put Slappy back to sleep if he’s alive. It is implied in Slappy, Beware! if you read the words backwards he would be put to sleep forever however we see the kids do this in the TV show and nothing happens (Slappy, Beware did come out after the show tho). In order for him to fall asleep to these words, he does have to physically hear them be said.

Monster Blood

Monster Blood is originally a gooey silly putty like substance however, the more time that passes, the more it grows. This causes it to go from a silly putty-like substance to a semi sentient blob which absorbs anything in its path. Anyone who consumes monster blood will get bigger while also getting stronger due to this size increase.

Monster Blood can be used as a trap or as a way to stop people from entering rooms. As a trap it can be used to trap people in place for a few seconds.

Poison Flower

In Goosebumps: Dead of Night Slappy has a poison which turns whoever he sprays with it into a plant creature. This poison works on a cellular level and acts fast, almost completely turning one into a plant within minutes.

Abilities

Chucky

Doll Physiology

Due to Charles Lee Ray’s soul being transferred into the Good Guy doll, he gained the attributes and physiology of a doll. He has shown to be able to switch between his normal voice and his doll voice. He is capable of turning his head 180 degrees and even can survive with just a head or without one. Due to his doll body, can fit in small spaces.

Even though he has the body of a doll, he still retains human attributes. Due to him staying inside the doll for so long, it began to develop human attributes. He has shown to feel pain and has bled before. He also has organs inside of the good guy doll, like a heart and reproductive system.

Soul Transference

Chucky’s signature ability. Chucky has the ability to utilize voodoo magic to swap the souls of others and either put them into inanimate objects for them to possess, swap his own soul into others and basically dominate their minds and control them, and even use this spell to swap bodies with and even inanimate things (like a good guy doll… obviously).

That third one is actually a spell he’s been trying for ages now, although he has given up because being a killer doll is rad as fuck. The problem was the fact that the person Chucky was swapping with, if it was alive, needed to be the first person that learned Chucky’s real name in order to swap souls.

Clairvoyance

Chucky has shown the ability to call upon Damballa to help guide him to hints on information like where people are located.

Soul Splitting

This is a spell Chucky learned on VoodooforDummies.com, which allows him to separate his soul into multiple Good Guy dolls, allowing for him to be in multiple places at once and survive if he were to die again.

Chucky’s got two versions of this spell, with the first being the ability to use a chant and bring another doll to life, only one at a time though. That doesn’t mean it’s not impressive, 3 Chuckys are better than one, and can allow him to kill someone in record time. Although, they could very easily be taken out, considering the small scale amount of Chuckys ain’t much of an army.

It’s the second version of the spell that gets you the army. After Chucky got a teenager to kill his dad, he was able to enact a spell that brought an entire army of Chuckys to life. This army is grand, having 73 dolls in total, which allows Chucky to bring hell to the world. Although, each Chucky are not the same doll; some of them can have arguments, be turned to the side of good, or even die with the other Chuckys not feeling a thing.

(Also note: the 2nd variation of this spell required help for him to get, as he needed the help of a teenager, in his case Junior Wheeler, to kill someone to make the spell activate. However, after this was done, the army basically became a part of Chucky’s standard kit. For the sake of this blog, we’ll be giving him the use of this army anyway, as it became standard after the spell was cast and would make sense to give him the army in order to put Chucky at his peak. Now watch people complain anyway)

Here is a list of some of the notable Chucky dolls:

Season 1 Chucky: This Chucky is the main one we see throughout season 1 of the Chucky television series. While he does die in quick succession once all the dolls are brought to life, he will be counted as at their peak there was 73 dolls including him.

Good Chucky: We originally see Good Chucky as a Chucky sent to scout and collect information on Jake, Devon, and Lexy. However, after being captured and mind wiped, he becomes Good Chucky and helps them fight the other Chucky’s like Buff Chucky. Good Chucky does end up going back to his evil roots as the mind wiping began to wear off. (This was confirmed by Don Mancini himself that Good Chucky was a thing, however the mind wipe began to wear off as some fans speculated that Good Chucky never was good and was tricking them the whole time). He ends up getting exorcized and possesses Father Bryce, killing him and the Father by imploding his body.

Buff Chucky: This Chucky is, as the name implies, buff. This Chucky began to work out and become stronger than the rest of the Chucky’s with impressive enough strength to rip out someone’s heart with his bare hands. He was later defeated and killed by The Colonel after getting outsmarted.

The Colonel: This Chucky is possibly the best tactical mind of the group. Just because he is bald, doesn’t mean he’s not a force to be reckoned with. He was able to devise a plan to track down and scout the protagonists of the television series and even outsmarted Buff Chucky, killing him. We also know he somehow killed a bunch of other Chuckys. He eventually gets killed by Andy while having Vietnam flashbacks.

“Prime Chucky”: While most likely not the original Chucky, it is likely referred to as prime Chucky due to being the oldest. He possesses Nica for most of the television series however, he does end up possessing a doll. While he does end up possessing this doll after most of the other dolls have been killed, we will be including him in his doll state, not inside of Nica.

Resistances

Slappy

Dummy Physiology

Due to being a living Dummy, he has many attributes that humans don’t have. Firstly, Slappy doesn’t age and because of this, has been around since the 1800’s. He’s been shown to survive with his head detached from his body and can even move it while it’s off his body. He has even shown to be able to move his head a full 360 degrees. Due to being a dummy, he is incredibly small, being able to move through small spaces if need be.

Wall Walking

In the Goosebumps TV show, it was implied that Slappy was capable of walking on walls due to the fact it shows his footprints across the walls heading into the vent. In the games he has shown the capability to run on the ceiling.

Regeneration

Slappy’s shown he has the ability to regenerate from severe wounds, such as when his face had a piece missing which he regenerated easily. Although, in theory, his regen should be a lot better than this. In the movie, it’s stated that the Goosebumps monsters can’t die by traditional means, which is shown first hand when a school bus exploded, turning the monsters nearby to nothing but liquid, and yet they still regenerated in a matter of seconds. We admittingly haven’t seen Slappy specifically do this, but it’s not out of the question that this is the case for his regen.

Transmutation

In the Goosebumps TV show, Slappy was capable of turning a normal human boy named Zane into a doll by breathing a green like gas into his face. The Fright Gallery also states he has the power to turn other people into puppets. Slappy also was able to turn a girl's head into a dummy’s head by pointing his fingers and shooting electricity at her in The Streets of Panic Park. We also have seen Slappy turn another doll into a rat before as well.

Life Bestoyal

In the Goosebumps TV show, Slappy was capable of giving a dummy life by breathing a green like gas into its face. Slappy was also capable of giving life to a giant dinosaur skeleton and a bunch of dead insects that were trapped inside of amber. Slappy was also capable of giving hundreds of broken dolls life with just a wave of his hand.

Teleportation

Slappy has shown on multiple occasions, through multiple media the capability to teleport. In the TV Show, Slappy was shown to teleport when messing with two girls. In the IDW comic book, he is also shown to likely teleport, disappearing when the lights are turned on.

Mind Control

Slappy has shown the capabilities to mind control others. We see this in Son of Slappy when the protagonist gets mind controlled by Slappy, being described as him invading his mind and even being described as possession at one point. The activation of this mind control was used through the chirping of real or fake birds. Slappy has used this to stop the protagonist from attacking him as well. However, we do see Slappy mind control others without the need for the chirping activation due to the fact he learns the new spell thanks to Goldie’s Diary. This is further backed by the Fright Gallery which states Slappy can control other people’s minds.

Mind Reading

As shown above, Slappy most likely has mind reading to some extent.

Fear Removal

While this is an ability Slappy can’t actively do, it should be something that is possible to be done. Fear in the Goosebumps world has the power to send other people or places into alternate timelines and realities. This means if someone is filled with enough fear from Slappy there is a potential chance they could be sent to an alternate reality.

Green Goo

Slappy is capable of puking up a large amount of green liquid goo from his mouth or nose. Even though it is stinky, it normally doesn’t have much of an effect. However, the goo can be boiling hot if he chooses for it to be.

Laser Eyes

In "The Dummy Meets the Mummy”, Slappy was able to shoot what is called “a ray of light” out of his eyes. This beam likely moves at light speed given it is called light and doesn’t go against any of the rules of light.

Dream Manipulation

Slappy, as stated above, has the power to invade other dreams. He seems to be able to manipulate the dream and the people in the dream, making them do his budding. The effects of the dream seem to carry over into real life, for example, Slappy bit the protagonists arm which left a bruise that carried over into the real world.

Sleep Inducement

Not much to it, Slappy is capable of making people fall asleep which pairs nicely with his dream manipulation abilities.

Invisibility

Slappy most likely has some sort of invisibility as the only way to see him in the cameo he makes in Say Cheese - and Die Screaming is through pictures

Telekinesis

Slappy has shown the ability to use telekinesis to control people and such. Slappy has shown this ability in Slappy, Beware! to send people flying off into the sky. Slappy also uses telekinesis to hold a garage door shut while also sending garage supplies flying everywhere.

Paralysis Inducement

Slappy has shown the ability to freeze people in place akin to paralysis. Slappy has shown this ability on a wide scale when freezing a whole town's worth of people when getting chased. Slappy has also shown this on a smaller scale as he has paralyzed individual people before. He can actively choose whether or not they remember being paralyzed.

Cockroach Puking

Slappy has strangely shown the capability to puke up a massive amount of cockroaches from his mouth to basically terrorize whoever he wants.

Death Manipulation

Goldie was capable of causing a bunch of rats to die with a single spell. While Slappy has not shown the ability to do this, he should reasonably be able to, given he now has the book with the spell inside of it.

Body Puppetry

Goldie was capable of causing Slappy’s body to become pretzel-like. While Slappy has not shown the ability to do this, he should reasonably be able to, given he now has the book with the spell inside of it. Slappy has shown to make people copy his movements. Slappy is even capable of forcing people’s mouths to shut.

Size Manipulation

Slappy has shown the ability to manipulate the sizes of things such as when he was capable of growing a group of stuffed animals until they popped.

Electricity Manipulation

When a kid tried to put Slappy back into his box, Slappy sent a powerful electrical current into the boy's hands which traveled up his arms. Slappy has shown to shoot electricity from his hands too.

Super Screech

Slappy is capable of producing a deafening wail which was described as being like a knife in your ears.

Weight Altercation

Slappy is capable of changing his own weight, making himself extremely hard if not impossible to pick up off the ground.

Energy Projection

Slappy is capable of firing magical balls of energy in Goosebumps: Dead of Night. Not much else there.

Illusions

Slappy is capable of creating multiple illusions of himself to trick people into where he is.

Slappy also has illusionary based shapeshifting which practically allows him to transform into many different monsters, gaining their abilities. These monsters include vampires, werewolves, and creeps

Technology Manipulation

Slappy has been shown to manipulate technology by turning it on by itself such as when he turned on a car. He has also shown this by turning on a TV which had him on it.

Ghost Slappy

The ghost of Slappy is a form that appears when Slappy physically dies, whether this be from his head getting cracked open or torn to bits. This form has shown the capability to appear seconds after being killed as well. In this form Slappy pretty much gains all the abilities of a ghost, this includes: possession, non corporeality, invisibility, partial invisibility, and flight. Slappy can also choose who can see him and who can’t. The only known way to beat this form is to fix Slappy’s body back to normal.

Giant Slappy

Slappy is capable of turning into Giant Slappy after consuming Monster Blood. In this state he grows to 20 feet tall, completely destroying the funhouse he was inside. Not much else to this form other than he’s big.

Weaknesses

Chucky

Being an almost immortal killing doll has its faults. His major weakness is his heart. Chucky can survive through mostly anything however it is established that his heart will cause him to basically be killed until his blood or something transfers into a new body. While in the TV show it is kind of inconsistent as he has died from stuff not relating to the heart, they could possibly be because they hadn’t fully become human yet or just Don Mancini forgot.

Slappy

Slappy may be a super powerful magical doll but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his faults. Slappy has a very specific with that being his notecard. If the words from his notecard are read, he will be put back to sleep until the words in the card are read again. However, in Slappy, Beware! it is implied if the words are read backwards to Slappy, he will go to sleep permanently.

While Slappy has an actual weakness, he himself has weaknesses himself. Slappy is very cocky, pretty much thinking he’s greater than everyone because of his powers which could allow people to get the jump on him. He is also a troll, liking to toy with his victims and not take the combat he does get into, too seriously.

Before the Verdicts

Goldie’s Diary

Now you may be asking, “What is Goldie’s Diary and why is there a before the verdict on it?” Well Goldie’s Diary is a book that Slappy’s sister (Goldie) has and uses for spells. The reason this is getting a before the verdict is two things:

1. Standardness of the book and its spells

2. Why we didn’t give Slappy all the powers Goldie has shown to use

Well firstly let’s start off with the standardness of the book and its spells. While Slappy doesn’t have the book for most of the story, he is able to obtain it and keeps it in the last chapter after turning Goldie into a rat. We even see him use spells from the book that he memorized from quickly reading it, one literally being the one he used to turn Goldie into a rat. Due to him having the book at the end of the story and having shown he is capable of memorizing spells fairly quickly we will be giving him all the spells from the book we know of.

Now some of the powers from Goldie that were shown are not listed in Slappy’s abilities. This is due to the fact it is unknown if those powers are spells from the book or are Goldie’s innate powers. We know dummies can have innate supernatural abilities as we see Slappy in the same book paralyze someone before getting his hands on the book so it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Goldie to have them as well. We also know that Goldie likely got more powers than Slappy has; she's often stated to be “the one given powers” so the powers Goldie has likely would not be given to Slappy from the book. We do know that any spell used from the book or read from the book comes with an incantation they must say to preform the spell which is why we are only giving Slappy spells that have an incantation as it indicates that it came from the book.

Monster Blood

You may be wondering why we are giving Slappy monster blood in his equipment however we have our reasoning. While Slappy doesn’t really have monster blood in the books, except for the time it got poured on him and he turned into a giant, he is seen using it in other media fairly consistently. Slappy uses it in the Goosebumps: Dead or the Night video game to stop you from entering certain rooms and trap you in place and he drops it onto you in Slappy’s Drop Dead House. We also think it would be interesting to give to him so he can access one of his forms.

Universal Slappy and Reality Warping

These two are gonna be put in the same section because they fall under similar circumstances. In Goosebumps Horrortown, Slappy was shown to be capable of the same powers the player does, including moving houses around and deleting other objects, and Slappy’s been shown to be capable of relaunching the game. However, while you could argue this would make Slappy universal and have reality warping powers, it just as easily could be Slappy exploiting the game’s mechanics by breaking the fourth wall, which it’s shown many times he can do. This is supported by the fact that we never see Slappy use these powers outside of the game these feats come from, making it unlikely he could replicate these powers.

Hack/Slash Scaling

For those unfamiliar with the character, Casey Hac is a monster hunter who Chucky has fought in a crossover event. Casey has fought relative to Ash williams with his fair share of building level results like surviving a hospital collapsing on him, Chucky doesn't scale since majority of the fight he’s fighting a highly fatigued Casey and for the most part, case overpowers him whenever she gets in close only getting stopped by her wounds and chucky size advantage.

Verdicts

Stats

Even though these two are children’s toys, they aren’t anything to scoff at when it comes to their physical capabilities. So how about we elaborate further onto their capabilities and compare how they stand up against each other.

Chucky has a few impressive feats like being able to hit a woman through a window which got around 4646 Joules or when he shattered through a wooden door which got about 1 Megajoule. Now for Slappy, his most impressive physical feat by far is almost ripping someone’s head off which on a high end gets 15 Kilojoules. This should make Chucky 67 times stronger than Slappy right? Well it would seem that way until one looks into scaling.

Slappy is capable of fighting his own twin brother, Snappy. They are likely just as strong as each other and have been seen fighting each other twice, with neither dominating the other. Due to this one could argue that Slappy’s AP should scale to Snappy’s durability which would give Slappy at the minimum 0.01 tons of TNT as his AP, making Slappy around 42 times stronger than Chucky.

Speed is a fairly easy topic to discuss. While Slappy could scale to some random guy who dodged lightning which got Mach 30.7, it is very likely this feat is an outlier. Slappy is most likely around peak human to superhuman level in speeds being capable to dodge out of the way of most attacks. Chucky on the other hand was capable of out running an explosion, a feat which gets Mach 7.4. This makes Chucky anywhere from 70 (assuming peak superhuman) to 350 (assuming bottom of peak human) times faster than Slappy.

Even with this speed advantage, Chucky really has no way to physically damage Slappy due to his superior durability compared to Chucky’s strength. Slappy’s should scale to Snappy’s feat as stated earlier making Chucky’s AP compared to Slappy’s durability a 42 times gap as stated before.

So no matter how much faster Chucky is than Slappy, due to Slappy’s edge in durability and strength, he would be able to survive any attack thrown at him and dish it back harder.

Arsenal & Abilities

When it comes to each other's arsenal and abilities, Chucky is completely outmatched. While Chucky does have a very wide array of weaponry at his disposal such as knives, guns, axes, hell even a grenade, it is almost no match for the vast amount of abilities at Slappy’s disposal.

For starters Chucky is very limited to melee combat due to the fact most of his arsenal focuses on close range combat. Slappy very easily can exploit this by using telekinesis on Chucky, making Chucky become a pretzel, or even using his poison of Chucky, causing Chucky to become a plant.

You could argue it would be very hard for Chucky to even be able to get close enough for melee. Slappy has multiple options which can keep Chucky distracted or make Slappy hard to get to like illusions to confuse him, teleportation, or even using invisibility to sneak around. All these abilities would make it hard for Chucky to even get in close

From long range, Chucky only really has his guns, throwing darts, and some marbles, making his ranged options very limited. Slappy, however, has better ranged options than guns likes: laser eyes, magic energy balls, and super screeching which is omnidirectional.

You could argue Chucky’s clairvoyance could allow for him to figure out where Slappy’s weakness is, his note card, however, Slappy very easily could seal his mouth shut before he begs finishes begging Dambala for help or even while Chucky is reading the words from the notecard. Slappy could just stop him with paralysis inducement before he gets to the notecard in the first place.

Chucky might be extremely hard to kill due to the fact he really can’t die unless you destroy his heart, but Slappy has work around. Slappy could very easily control Chucky and give him the Lowtiergod speech, he could turn him into a rat to end the fight, or he could set him to sleep and kill him in the dream.

Now onto Chucky’s biggest ability, his soul splitting. The 73 Chucky’s could possibly overwhelm Slappy if it wasn’t for the fact Slappy has multiple options which would allow for him to handle them. Slappy could mind control them into fighting each other, use his omnidirectional screech to stun them, use his paralysis inducement to instantly freeze all of them, put all of them to sleep, or he could even instantly kill all of them with his death spell if he wished. Slappy would be very capable of handling the massive group of Chuckys.

Tertiary Factors

When it comes to experience both are extremely experienced. Chucky has been dabbling in voodoo for years and was the guy to go to help Hack with her search for the Heart of Damballa. However, Slappy has many more years of experience in magic due to being hundreds of years old.

In terms of combat both are fairly experienced however, Slappy has fought a wider array of supernatural foes like Arragotus, his brother Snappy, partially his sister Goldie, he even fights Mr. Wood in one of the games. So when it comes to combat experience, Slappy is most likely more experienced.

When it comes to forms, Chucky has none and has nothing to keep up with Slappy’s. If Chucky could kill Slappy’s physical body, he would have no way to damage or kill his ghost without getting possessed or just getting straight up stabbed to death by an intangible Slappy. And if Slappy becomes giant Slappy well Chucky would have no way to take on someone so big and strong.

  • Bro has so much fucking media to look through

Even though both are extremely powerful for their size, Slappy should be the superior one in this fight. Both have similar experience in the work of magic with Slappy being superior due to his age and amount of magic. Both are equally as intelligent as one another, being able to trick and devise plans of the fly. And both are equally just as hard to kill.

Even with those factors being similar in this fight, there were many factors which helped us decide Slappy. Firstly stats, while Chucky may be faster at Mach 7, making him around 70-350 times faster if not more, he has no way to harm Slappy. Slappy is way stronger and way more durable due to scaling to Snappy which has the propane tank explosion feat which got calculated at 0.01 - 0.181 Tons of TNT. This completely dwarfs the strongest Chucky strength calc at around 1 Megajoule and the best durability feat for him at around 4 Megajoules. So for stats, Slappy takes it.

Even without stats, Slappy just has a wider array of abilities and hax to defeat Chucky, with Chucky having no real way to counter them. Slappy is capable of handling him and his army through many means like: Sleep inducement, mind control, transmutation, paralysis inducement, telekinesis, or he could just instantly kill them with one of his spells. Added with the fact he can keep Chucky on his toes with illusions, invisibility, and teleportation.

Lastly, Chucky has no real way to deal with his forms. Chucky wouldn’t be able to interact with Slappy’s ghost and would have no way to take down Giant Slappy. This fight points all directions towards Slappy’s favor and in the end, Chucky’s hopes for a slaughter left him with Goosebumps.

The winner is Slappy the Dummy.
